Pie charts

In class we have been leaning about pie chats. We had to get into groups and to a   student serve. I was in a group with Ore and Erica and Melina. We  ask students which of theirs are you favorite from Harry Potter, The fault in our stars , Divergent and How to train your dragon. The fault in our stars and How to train your dragon.  got the most votes.

Mathe Mate T2 S5 Q23

Predict: I predict this question is going to be about finding speed and distance.

Read: Bobby’s car uses 9 litres of fuel per 100 km. How many litres of fuel are required to travel from Kogan to Tingura?

Clarify:  No

Toolbox: I used dar a diagram or graph

Big : How many litres of fuel are required to travel from Kogan to Tingura?

Solution:To find the litres of fuel of distance between the towns  you have to add 64, 122, 154 and 60 equals 400. Since Bobby’s car uses 9 L of fuel per 100 m, need to divide 400 by 100 and times that by 9 Fuel is required to get from Kogan to Tingura. is 36 L.

Summary:  It makes it look hard but it isn’t.

Maths mate T1 S8 Q24

Predict: I predict that this will be about addition.

Read: Put the numbers the circles so they each are equal

Clarify: No
Big question: What  numbers belong  the circles?1

Mathematicians toolbox:  Testing all possibilities

Solve: I solved the  problem by  testing all possibilities  in till i got the  correct answer

Summary: This might take sometime but when you testing all possibilities  you will get the correct answer

Mast mate S4 T1

Predict: I predict this will be about weight.

Read: which to weights need to be swapped to balance the scale?

Big question: Which to weights need to swap to make it even ?

My tool: Guess check and improve.

Answer: 9 and 5.

Summary: It might tack some time but you will get there

Maths Mate S3 T1

Predict: I predict this is going to be about Problem solving

Read: Fill in the missing digits  given that no digit is repeated

clarify: nothing  to clarify

Big question: Fill in the missing digits

2 0 ?

+ 1 ?5

= ? 8 ?

Mathematics toolbox: I have seen a similar problem .

Solve: I solved this question by fill the in the missing box’s

Summary: This question was about problem solving and think of where all the numbers have to go.

Graph

Today i’m telling you about and how you can make a  excel. There  where our traits that we made a graph.

Traits Yes No

How to make a graph on excel

Equipment

  • A computer
  • Excel
  1. Collect the data by having a survey.
  2. open up excel on your computer.
  3. Fill in the data in the spaces provided in excel.
  4. Highlight all of the data that you want to be included in your graph.
  5. Then go to the toolbar and click insert .Then go to charts click on a chart and it will be made for you.

Maths mate sheet 3 Question 24

Predict: I predict this question is about problem solving and adding up numbers.

Read: Towns A to F are to be connected by fibre optics cables along existing roads. Calculate the minimum length of cable required. { Each town must be connected to at least one other town. All distances are in kilometres}

clarify: nothing to clarify

big question: Calculate the kilometres

Mathematicians toolbox: I have seen a similar problem

solve: Add  the following numbers. 20, 58, 17, 40, 52! and you have your answer 187!

Summary: this question was about adding numbers

Maths Problem on blog

Predict: what sort of maths problem  do you think it is.

Read : write the question !

Clarify: write the meaning of words or concepts!

Big question : what dose the question mean ?  what did you do to fever  it out?

Mathematical Toolbox : Write which one you used!

Solve : how did you solve it? write the steps !

Summary : summarise what the problem was about  and how you went about solving  it

Maths Mate Q.22 Week. 8

Predict: I predict that i will have to put in the missing symbols

Read: Place a +, – or x sign into each box to make the equation correct. 6 _ 8 _ =46.

Clarify: i had no words or phrases to clarify.

Mathematical toolbox: guess, check and improve.

Solve: First i put a x in the fist box because the answer to 6 _ 8 has to equal more than 20. 6×8=48 them i automaticly knew that 48 – 2 = 46.

6 x 6 – 2 = 46

Summary: this question was very easy. i got the answer right! There was a bit of trial and error but overall it was easy.

Maths Mate Q.22 week 7

Predict: I predict that i will have to put in the missing symbols

Read: Place a +, – or x sign into each box to make the equation correct. 0 _ 8 _ = 8.

Clarify: i had no words or phrases to clarify.

Mathematical toolbox: guess, check and improve.

Solve: I knew already that the first box couldnt be – because tou cant take away 8 from 0 unless you answer is a negitive number.

For the 0 _ 8 i knew it had to equal 0 to i could pluss eight to make it equal eight.

i knew the 0 x 8 = 0 so now i had only one choice, which was to put a + in the other box.

0 x 8 + 8 = 8.

Summary: this question was very easy. i got the answer right! There was a bit of trial and error but overall it was easy.
