Mathe Mate T2 S5 Q23

Predict: I predict this question is going to be about finding speed and distance.

Read: Bobby’s car uses 9 litres of fuel per 100 km. How many litres of fuel are required to travel from Kogan to Tingura?

Clarify:  No

Toolbox: I used dar a diagram or graph

Big : How many litres of fuel are required to travel from Kogan to Tingura?

Solution:To find the litres of fuel of distance between the towns  you have to add 64, 122, 154 and 60 equals 400. Since Bobby’s car uses 9 L of fuel per 100 m, need to divide 400 by 100 and times that by 9 Fuel is required to get from Kogan to Tingura. is 36 L.

Summary:  It makes it look hard but it isn’t.

I  was on the edge of my set  I had to go,but where could I go. A or B I had a feeling it was A but   could I trust my instincts they  have got me nowhere but, I dont i cant ‘A’  I said. No what have I done I was standing   near A I looked over to B  where could I go . I took 3 deep breathes 1,2 and 3, ok it was  now or never A or B  I looked to the ground A I said I  crossed my fingers hoping for luck I walk over  and open the door… bubble gun dam it  instincts.

GTAC Reflection Lesson 1

On the 6th of May all of the year 5/6 s  went to the science lab.For the lesson with GTAC ,we meet 2 science Chris and Maria. We learnt  about solids and liquids, because the 5/6 s have been leaning about the 4 state of matter which are solids ,liquids ,gas and palms.

GTAC  come to us because we wanted to explore the topic more. Our lesson was to explore and explain why solids and liquids behaves differently .We first stared the lesson by talking about what solids and liquids are .Through out the lesson we did experiments, one of them was to get all of the play dough  particles from one side of the room to to the other  using tongs and a cup

A solids atoms are tightly packed together because the atoms need to be packed  tight to keep its sharp. Golden syrup is like water, but  the atoms are attracted  for a longer time that is why it is sticky.Atoms can not be remade .

I  understand  more about the 4 states of matter and how they work  for example solids can be melted in to liquid  and liquid can be freezes into ice.

Some questions   i have are can you lose the 72% of water in you body?  Can  atoms be damaged?

Math mate S4 T2 Q22

Predict: I predict that this problem will be about addition and currency.

Read: Five ballpoint pens cost as much as two fountain pens. How much are 6 fountain pens if one ballpoint pen costs $1.

Clarify: No

Toolbox: The strategy I used from the mathematician’s toolbox was to work backwards.

Big question: The big question is how much do 6 fountain pens cost.

Solve: I knew that each ballpoint pen cost $1 each, and 5 of them cost as much as 2 ballpoint pens, so a ballpoint pen cost $2.50. I work out 6 x $2.50, and that was $15, so that means that 6 fountain pens cost $15.

Summary: This problem was easy to work out so good luck

Maths Mate T2 S3 Q22

Predict: I predict that this will be about Adding and  money .

Clarify: nothing to clarify.

Big question: The question is how much is one pair of scissors if they cost as much as four rubbers. So how much would two pairs of scissors if one rubber is $1.50.

My tool: I guess , check and improved

Solve: I solve it by adding and subtract  the numbers

Summary: This is easy if you  guess , check and improved  when you are solving the problem
